Pat Kelly (Kingston, 1949was one the biggest rocksteady heroes of Jamaica in the60s and 70s. In 1966 he replaced Slim Smith as singer of the Techniques, a group that covered soul songs. Two years later he went solo, debuting with Curtis Mayfield's Little Boy Blue. On Jamaica, its neighbouring islands and in the UK he was immensely popular; his song How Long Will it Take was the best-selling Jamaican single of 1969. Pat Kelly is coming to the ska tent with The Magic Touch, a supergroup from Berlin with members from prominent German ska bands Yellow Umbrella and Solitos. With their own unique mix of rocksteady, r&b, ska, early reggae and dub they've worked with Pat Kelly and other oldskool British and Jamaican reggae acts. A golden combination!
