Jamaican I Wayne, born Cliffroy Taylor in 1980, is a true storyteller. In his 2005 single Can’t Satisfy Her, for example, he sings the disturbing story of a young girl dancing as a stripper at age 11, ending up in prostitution and only living for money and nice things. There’s a reason his most recent album is called Life Teachings (2011). As a true preacher he spreads the teachings of Rastafari King Haile Selassie, denounces materialism, shows his aversion to violence on the one hand, and his love for nature on the other. I Wayne brings us positive sounding rootsreggae with topics that are culturally enriching and encouraging. We are more than happy to welcome this hidden gem to our festival.
