If we say Black Roses and Here I Come, you say? Barrington Levy of course! Even before age 16 this Jamaican dancehall icon already had 4 albums to his name, including the famous Englishman. In the 80s he released top hits like Under Mi Sensi and Here I Come (Broader Than Broadway) and he also gained immense popularity in the UK. His hits were sampled by artists such as The Black Eyed Peas and the Beasty Boys. In the 90s he mainly scored on Jamaica, with album Living Dangerously among others, for which he collaborated with Snoop Dogg and Bounty Killer. Barrington Levy has become a true classic who doesn’t rest on his laurels though. He keeps on touring and released album Acousticalevy in 2015, which was nominated for a Grammy for Best Reggae Album. Let’s all sing along: skibbadiddlywaddaliywhoah!
