The legendary Gladdy Wax (aka Mr Vinyl Fingers) is one of the UK's most respected revival selectors. He has been running his own sound system for over 40 years now. Gladdy's talents don't stop there; he's also a phenomenal MC and singer. He was a DJ for Birmingham's Quaker City sound in the 70s and released several records in the 80s under the names Gladwin Wright and Glady Wax. He is also known for his radio shows and for the record store in North London that he ran for 14 years. The store closed its doors in 2006, but Gladdy continued to sell vinyl and CDs online until recently.

In addition to playing at many high-profile festivals and events across the UK, the mighty Gladdy Wax sound system has always been a key attraction at the Notting Hill Carnival. Gladdy's attention to detail on all levels is second to none: from the warmth of the sound system to his gold record centers and signature white gloves (to protect his precious vinyl from fingerprints).

Gladdy Wax has a very extensive record collection, but more importantly, he is a passionate entertainer and a selector par excellence. We invite you to admire Gladdy, his white gloves and most importantly his mix of killer ska, rocksteady and reggae at the 18 INCH on Saturday.
