Of course the king of British sound systems can't be absent from our 40th birthday party. Jah Shaka has been spinning roots reggae and dub since 1968 and has developed a spiritual and energetic style of his own. He has always stayed loyal to that style, even when other sound systems switched to dancehall. Before he was a reggae star Jah Shaka was a youth worker and he is still working towards a better world. His Jah Shaka Foundation supports schools, hospitals and radio stations on Jamaica, in Ethiopia and Ghana. He considers his music a teacher to the community and a freer of the oppressed. Get carried away by this founder of British dub, ‘the mighty Zulu warrior’.
